The CVS Pharmacy has just announced that its cholesterol-lowering pill Levitra will soon be available at the CVS Pharmacy, its popular erectile dysfunction treatment for men.
The new CVS Pharmacy, the store’s flagship chain, was first to report that Levitra will be available at the CVS Pharmacy for $8.50 a tablet, or around $5 for one pill. CVS had previously told the CVS pharmacy that it will be making Levitra available only through its own pharmacy, but has since stopped making a claim about its own pharmacy.
The CVS Pharmacy is based in San Francisco and the pharmacy will be open Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 3:00 p.m. in CVS Pharmacy. CVS also has a new pharmacy, “CVS Pharmacy Daily,” and plans to offer “CVS Pharmacy Online Pharmacy,” which costs $8.99 a pill. The pharmacy will be located at a CVS store at 830 East 23rd St.
CVS is still committed to providing men with the lowest prices on erectile dysfunction medications, which has been a top cause of concern for the company.
“Erectile dysfunction affects many couples and can be a devastating condition that requires men to seek help and care,” the pharmacy’s statement said.
Levitra, with a dosage of 5 mg per tablet, was originally developed to treat high blood pressure and angina. It was later re-discovered in 1998 that Levitra could also be used for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. The drug’s FDA approval came less than a decade after Levitra was first available as a pill, but in 2003, the FDA issued a warning about the drug’s safety.
“For over 10 years, the FDA has recommended that physicians consider the use of Levitra in treating erectile dysfunction and other related disorders. In recent years, however, the FDA has increased its safety warning to include evidence that the drug is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks, stroke, and heart failure,” the statement said.
Although Levitra’s manufacturer, CVS Caremark, has not yet announced a deal with CVS, the pharmacy will be offering Levitra for $8.50 a tablet, or around $5 for one pill. CVS has a new store in CVS that it will be updating with Levitra’s price and availability as it becomes available.
